Srdečně zveme na speciální přednášku naší stipendistky a hostky Dr. Alix Buisseret z Université de Genève, která nám představí Ženevu jakožto křižovatku kultur střední Evropy.
Alix Buisseret studovala dějiny umění na Université Libre de Bruxelles, University of Kent a svoji disertační práci obhájila na Université de Genève. Ve svém výzkumu se věnuje iluminovaným rukopisům 15. století, podílí se ale i na projektech, které propagují kulturní dědictví ve spolupráci
s uměleckým trhem, akademickými institucemi a organizacemi zabývajícími se ochranou kulturního dědictví.
Doktorka Buisseret je stipendistkou našeho programu Jarmila Vacková Fellowship, v rámci něhož se na Semináři dějin umění věnuje tématu Artistic circulations between East and West: The Council of Basel (1431–1439). Přednáška se zaměří na Jeana Bapteura, prvního ženevského malíře, který sloužil vévodovi Savojskému a jehož kariéra poskytuje vhled do umělecké role Ženevy ve střední Evropě. V 15. století bylo toto město součástí Savojského vévodství, středoevropského území, které je dnes rozděleno mezi Švýcarsko, Itálii a Francii. Dnes je Ženeva uznávána jako klíčová křižovatka v rámci vévodství i Evropy s bohatou a kvalitní uměleckou produkcí. Nikdy však nebyla systematicky zkoumána jako umělecké centrum.

We cordially invite you to a special lecture by our Fellow and guest, Dr. Alix Buisseret from the University of Geneva, who will introduce us to Geneva as a crossroads of Central European cultures.
Alix Buisseret studied art history at the Université Libre de Bruxelles and the University of Kent, and defended her dissertation at the Université de Genève. Her research focuses on 15th-century illuminated manuscripts, and she is involved in projects that promote cultural heritage in collaboration with the art market, academic institutions, and organisations dedicated to the preservation of cultural heritage.
Dr. Buisseret is a fellow of our Jarmila Vacková Fellowship program, under which she focused on the topic of Artistic circulations between East and West: The Council of Basel (1431-1439) at the Seminar of Art History. The lecture focuses on Jean Bapteur, the first local painter to serve the Duke of Savoy, whose career provides insight into Geneva’s artistic role within Central Europe. In the 15th century, Geneva was part of the Duchy of Savoy, a central European territory now divided between Switzerland, Italy, and France. Today, Geneva is recognised as a key crossroads within the duchy and in Europe, with a rich and qualitative artistic production. Yet, it has never been systematically examined as an artistic centre.
