Srdečně zveme na speciální přednášku zahraničního hosta Dr. Gernota Mayera z Institutu dějin umění Vídeňské univerzity, který nám přiblíží umělecký mecenát a kulturní politiku císařského kancléře Wenzela Antona, knížete z Kaunitz-Rietbergu (1711–1794). 

Gernot Mayer studoval dějiny umění ve Vídni a v Benátkách. Ve svém výzkumu se zaměřuje na italské a středoevropské umění 17. a 18. století, zejména v kontextu dějin sběratelství a kulturních transferů. V knihovně Semináře dějin umění najdete mimo jiné jeho skvělou knihu Kulturpolitik der Aufklärung: Wenzel Anton von Kaunitz-Rietberg und die Künste (sig. K’-VIII-113). Ta vychází z jeho disertační práce a představuje recentní a komplexní pohled na pozoruhodnou osobnost císařského kancléře a jeho umělecký mecenát v kontextu jeho reformní politiky.

We warmly invite you to a special lecture by our international guest, Dr. Gernot Mayer from the Department of Art History at the University of Vienna. His lecture will focus on the artistic patronage and cultural policy of Imperial Chancellor Wenzel Anton, Prince of Kaunitz-Rietberg (1711–1794).

Gernot Mayer studied art history in Vienna and Venice. His research focuses on Italian and Central European art of the 17th and 18th centuries, particularly in the context of collecting history and cultural transfer. His book, which can also be found in the library of our Department of Art History, Kulturpolitik der Aufklärung: Wenzel Anton von Kaunitz-Rietberg und die Künste (sig. K’-VIII-113), based on his doctoral dissertation, offers a fresh and comprehensive perspective on this remarkable Chancellor, highlighting his artistic patronage within the context of his reform policies.
