Gábor György Papp je maďarský historik umění, který se specializuje na architekturu 19. století, historismus a vizuální reprezentace národní identity ve střední Evropě. Působí v Ústavu dějin umění Maďarské akademie věd. Mezi jeho publikace patří mj. Von Berlin nach Budapest. Aspekte des Historismus in der ungarischen Architektur (2006) a Art Treasures in the Palace of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (editováno spolu s Edit András a Évou Bicskei, 2006).

We warmly invite you to a special lecture by our international guest, Gábor Papp from the Hungarian Academy of Sciences, who will introduce us to the art of historicism and Gothic revivals!

Gábor György Papp is a Hungarian art historian specialising in 19th-century architecture, historicism, and visual representations of national identity in Central Europe. He is a research fellow at the Institute of Art History of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences. His publications include Von Berlin nach Budapest: Aspekte des Historismus in der ungarischen Architektur (2006) and the edited volume Art Treasures in the Palace of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences (edited with Edit András and Éva Bicskei, 2006).

The lecture will take place on Wednesday, 21st May 2025, at 5:00 PM in the Hans Belting Library and will be in English.
